MKBLP shows it's support for 2017
Formed in 2008, Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership (MKBLP) has now firmly established itself as the voice for business within the area. It pulls on the vast expertise and wider knowledge of its members to provide focused representation and influence on business issues within key public and private sector organisations for the benefit of its membership, the wider business environment and the community at large.
We had a chat with Chairman, Dr Phillip Smith MBE, to find out why presenting the MK Business Achievement Awards was so important to the organisation. The overall aim was simple; to celebrate and recognise business success.
Dr Smith commented, “This year more than ever, as Milton Keynes hits that all important 50th milestone, celebrating the achievements of the many businesses located within the area is key to recognising the vitally important role that businesses have played in the development of this amazing city.”
Since the awards were established back in 2014, many of the nominated businesses and, of course, the winners, have gone on to achieve even greater success and have used the awards as a platform to showcase the working practices, ideas and business processes that helped get them recognised.
Dr Smith continued, “The awards greatly strengthen a business’s credentials when talking to customers, investors or potential employees. It can really make you stand out from the crowd.”
This year the awards have expanded further, offering 12 categories with new ones being announced for 2017 including ‘Energy & Environment’ and ‘Small Business under £5m turnover’, and with an expert judging panel already in place, entries are coming in thick and fast.
“We would encourage any business, be they big or small, to enter the awards. There really is a category for everyone. We’ve streamlined the entry process making it quicker and easier, so what are you waiting for, the deadline is 23 November 2016”, Dr Smith concluded.
